ISIP™ High School
Currently in the final stages of development, ISIP High School is scheduled for testing in Fall 2012, with an anticipated release in Spring 2013.
Due to No Child Left Behind legislation and growing pressures nationwide to ensure that all students are capable of earning a high school diploma, most high school exit exams are set to measure knowledge and skills in English, reading, math, and science at only the 8th to 10th grade level. As a result, many students who pass these exams and graduate from high school are not prepared for college.
The key indicators of college readiness include the following:
- the ability to understand explicit and implicit texts
- the ability to understand how elements, such as author’s purpose and main ideas, function in text
- the ability to understand complex texts
Currently under development, Istation's ISIP High School assessment will help teachers evaluate these student abilities, identify which college-ready skills each student might be lacking, and adapt their curriculum and teaching methods accordingly.
It's Smart
Like all Istation assessments, ISIP High School will blend age-appropriate content with rich, lively animations and short 30-minute, game-like interactions to effectively capture students' interest and motivate them to participate. Using ISIP™, Istation's Indicators of Progress, the computer-adaptive tests will dynamically adjust to every student's individual ability — from struggling to advanced — based on each successive response. Student scores will be generated instantly, and Istation's industry-leading technology will not only ensure accurate assessments (by taking the risk of human error out of the scoring equation) but also identify the optimal curriculum for every student in each skill area.
No other system does this!
It's Comprehensive
With ISIP High School, teachers will also have access to hundreds of resources, including directed lessons, complete bibliographies for each lesson, online interactive books, a teacher's manual, a user's guide, and technical support. Plus, unlike standard assessments that occur just once, at the end of a student's high school career, the ISIP High School assessment will be conducted automatically each month (or on demand, as desired) to measure progress over time for each student, class, school, or district.
It's Fast
In addition to instant scores, comprehensive, customizable reports will also be immediately available. (And time not spent on manual grading, score analysis, instruction differentiation, and multiple testing leaves teachers with more time to focus on what's really important: teaching!)
