Listed below are frequently asked questions related to Istation IRT studies.

If you have any additional questions related to Istation products, administration of the program, login, understanding error messages, or other general questions, please visit our Quick Tips and FAQs Web page.

  • What information is needed to participate?
  • Please have the main point of contact send the number of students participating per IRT (Algebra Readiness vs. Algebra 1) to implementation@istation.com.
  • Who can participate?
    • ISIP™ Algebra Readiness: 6th-8th graders NOT enrolled in Algebra 1
    • ISIP Algebra 1: 8th and 9th graders who are currently enrolled in Algebra 1

Students who have testing accommodations should be allowed to use those accommodations during this field testing with one exception. Algebra 1 only: The only calculator allowed for use should be the four-function calculator provided within the assessment.

  • When will testing take place?
  • The testing window can be any two consecutive months between February 2, 2017 and June 2, 2017. Students must complete all 4 tests within two months of starting the IRT.
  • How long will the testing take?
  • Students are asked to take four sessions that will last approximately 30-55 minutes each. Students can take those four assessments any time during the field test window; however, they must be taken on different days.
  • Where do students go to complete the sessions?
  • Students will need to complete the field test at isip.istation.com in a Web browser or in the student app on the iPad (student app only applies to the iPad). Students will use their regular login credentials for the IRT.
  • My students are asked for a domain when logging in. Where can I find this information?
  • Your domain will be in the format of (school.district.state). Future sessions should not require the domain to be set.
  • How will I know when my students have completed a session?
  • Once the assessment has ended, students should click on the OK button to exit the assessment and then click Log out. It is important that students complete all items within a testing session. At the end of all four sessions, a screen will display to indicate that the test has been completed.
  • Will customers be able to view their data?
  • Teachers will not be able to pull a full report to view data; however, they will be able to view Session/Activity Details for each student. Teachers will also have access to a report for viewing the completion rates for their students (this information will be sent to all participating customers by Implementation prior to the start date). We are using this field study to test the validity of the questions and to build our routing system for the future of this product; therefore, we do not report using a tiered system for IRTs.
  • Who can I contact with questions/concerns during the IRT?
  • If you have any questions or concerns, contact our Implementation Team at implementation@istation.com. They will handle all contact with participating schools once you agree to participate in the IRT.
  • A “login failure” error message appears on the computer screen when a student tries to log in. What do I do?
  • Follow these three steps:
    • Confirm that your student is logging in to the student curriculum application (iPad) or isip.istation.com (PC or Mac).
    • Next, confirm that the student’s school is listed correctly above the username and password fields.
    • Finally, confirm that the student is entering his or her username with no capital letters and as it appears on the login card. When entering passwords, make sure that Caps Lock is not enabled on the laptop or computer keyboard. As you type, the text may appear to be in caps on the screen, but it is not entered in caps as long as Caps Lock is not enabled.
  • A student is having problems with the sound on the Istation program. What should I do?
  • Try updating your sound drivers if you are having issues with sound.
  • What are the IRT system requirements and technical specs?
  • Schools participating in the ISIP Algebra Readiness and/or the ISIP Algebra 1 field testing must meet these minimum technical requirements:
    • Internet connection
    • Computer that supports Adobe Flash system requirements (http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/systemreqs/)
