State-approved vendor: The California Board of Education has approved ISIP Reading and ISIP Math for grades K-8 to be included on the list of academic progress indicators for state charter schools. To be considered for renewal, low- and middle-performing charter schools must use verified data from an approved assessment to provide evidence of an increase in academic achievement over one school year. Verified data is defined as, “assessment data from nationally recognized, valid, peer-reviewed, and reliable sources that are externally produced.

State-approved vendor: ISIP ISIP Reading and ISIP Lectura are approved READ interim assessments for grades K–3. Cut scores as well as other resources can help educators determine significant reading deficiencies.

The Alternative Assessments for Good Cause Promotion ruling states that districts can submit requests to the State Board of Education asking for approval of the administration of alternative reading assessments to be used as a good cause exemption for promotion. Istation is one of seven approved assessments for eligible students in third grade.

Missouri
- State-approved vendor: Istation Reading was named to the Missouri Reading Assessment QVL in April of 2023. This is the initial Missouri Reading QVL and covers grades K-5. The initial contract is for 12 months.
Montana
- State-approved vendor: Istation is included in the list of evidence-based dyslexia screening tools for grades 3-6 based on the reliability and validity of the ISIP Reading assessment. School districts can use ISIP Reading to identify students at risk of not meeting grade-level reading benchmarks.
Nebraska
- State-approved vendor: Istation gained approval from the Nebraska Department of Education for the 2022-2023 school year for its kindergarten through 3rd grade ISIP reading assessments. The Nebraska Reading Improvement Act, which requires each district to select an approved reading assessment screener, prompted this selection. Istation’s supplemental adaptive programs were chosen based on multiple criteria such as evidence of effectiveness, alignment with state standards, and personalized learning for each student.
New Mexico

ISIP Reading is on the Commissioner’s List of approved Prekindergarten Progress Monitoring Instruments.

This initiative aims to improve student achievement by providing adaptive and personalized math instructional software.
